Youth in Energy Empowerment Program

The Youth In Energy Empowerment Program (YEEP), an initiative by Eenovators Limited, is designed to empower the next generation of energy professionals. This internship program equips young graduates aged 21-30 with the essential skills and training needed to excel in the energy sector, fostering both employability and positive change within the industry.

Our Mission

YEEP aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs by providing practical, hands-on experience and targeted training. We are committed to:

YEEP Cohorts

YEEP Cohort 1

  • Launched: January 19, 2021, in Kenya

  • Project: “Building Esco Models for Promotion of Food Security through Water and Energy Management with a Focus on Youth Empowerment”

  • Objective: To assess the energy footprint of selected Agri-food sector facilities in Kenya and provide recommendations for potential water and energy savings.

  • Partnership: GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) under the Water and Energy for Food WE4F initiative in Kenya (October 2020 – October 2021)

  • Cohort Size: 10 young energy professionals

YEEP Cohort 2

  • Commenced: March 2022
  • Focus: “Empowering Energy Independence in Africa: Enabling Rural & Urban Renewable Energy Awareness, Access and Affordability”
  • Participants: 35 young people from Kenya and Uganda
  • Structure:
    Phase 1: Online training on coursework
    Phase 2: Industrial attachment in selected facilities in Kenya and Uganda

YEEP Cohort 3

  • Launched: June 2024
  • Expansion: Includes Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda
  • Shortlisted Youth: 77
  • Structure:
    Phase 1: Hybrid 3-month Energy Management Training and examinations
    Phase 2: Industrial attachment in selected facilities in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda (50 finalists currently undergoing internship)
